Dr. Robert Stewart
I am a professional evaluator, social science researcher and analyst with nearly 20 years of experience, specialising in humanitarian and development contexts. My thematic areas of expertise relate to mixed migration and refugees, protection, development in fragile and post-conflict contexts, transitional justice, human rights, democratic transitions, advocacy, as well as institutional strengthening and M&E capacity building. I also have a particular specialisation in qualitative and quantitative methodologies and in research design.
My practice has involved carrying out and leading teams in single and multi-country projects for a wide variety of clients, as well as sharing strategic advice and analysis with the senior management of international organisations including UN funds and programmes as well as the European Commission.
I have conducted field missions throughout the Middle East and North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, South and Southeast Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. I am also the co-editor of the book "Transitional Justice and the Arab Spring" (Routledge, 2014), am a member of the European Evaluation Society, and am fully fluent in English and French.
